Feed technology for variable small series with high cycle rates

Many parts, little time, hardly any personnel: When series constantly change, manual feeding blocks the entire cycle. At gKteso, we develop feeding technology that is smart and automatically adjusts to each part.

This is how gKteso's feeding technology works

Feeding is an integral part of the modular assembly cell AS Integrated. It handles all component handling: from delivery to detection to precise provisioning.

Structure of the feeding unit:

  • Camera-based detection: The system detects shape, position, and variant of each part. The control automatically selects the appropriate program.
  • Pick and Place System: A robot picks the parts and positions them precisely at the next station.
  • AGV connection: Automated guided vehicles bring raw parts to the system and remove finished units.

The feeding works with trays, bulk material, or band feeding and automatically adapts to the respective format.

Our services around feeding technology

  • Process analysis

We analyze your material flows and check where automated feeding brings the greatest effect. We also consider setup times, cycle losses, and operating processes.

  • Design and manufacturing

Each unit for feeding technology is manufactured in-house. We tailor each system precisely to the component geometry, number of variants, and batch sizes.

  • Integration and commissioning

Our technicians integrate the system directly into your line. Commissioning takes place on-site with a complete function test and induction of your team.

  • Service and expansion

We supply spare parts, adapt systems to new requirements if necessary, and support with maintenance or software updates. All expansions remain compatible with the existing solution.

Why modern production needs new feeding technology

Classic feeding units can only be adjusted to new parts with effort. Even small changes in shape or position lead to downtimes, operating errors, or material jams. In small series production, this means: several minutes setup time per change, increased scrap, and unnecessary rework.

Our feeding technology automatically recognizes each part by camera, selects the appropriate program, and passes the part precisely positioned to the next station. You work without retooling, avoid operating errors and keep the cycle time consistent, even with daily changing variants.

How your operation benefits in everyday production

Product change without downtime

The system automatically recognizes each new part variant based on clear features. It independently calls up the appropriate program and directly adjusts. A change takes less than five minutes. Your line remains constantly in motion, even with daily changing series.

Process reliability through integrated inspection

Cameras and sensors check each part during feeding for shape, position, and completeness. The system immediately sorts out faulty or unsuitable parts. This prevents incorrect assemblies before they occur. The quality remains consistent, regardless of who operates the system.

Less personnel commitment with consistent quality

The technology takes over all previous manual tasks in feeding. Your employees only monitor the process and intervene when necessary. This significantly reduces the strain in shift work. At the same time, process stability increases.

Compact integration without reconstruction

The unit requires little space and fits directly into existing production locations. It remains flexibly expandable and does not change your processes. Even in tight conditions, the structure remains intact. You automate step by step without rebuilding your line.

FAQ: Frequent questions about feeding technology

What part formats can the feeding technology handle?
Our feeding technology processes a wide range of parts made of plastic, metal, or composites. The integrated camera system automatically detects shape, position, and variant. You don’t need to swap mechanical parts or retool the system, as it adjusts itself automatically.

Yes, we design the feeding unit to fit into your existing production line. You don’t need additional space or modifications to existing systems. Even with tight space constraints, the technology can be integrated easily.

A product change usually takes less than five minutes. The control system automatically recognizes the new variant and calls up the appropriate program. Your operating personnel do not need to intervene and can take on other tasks in parallel.
