Assembly technology from gKteso

Every minute of production time counts. Our assembly technology ensures that your system runs reliably, automatically detects components, and adjusts to new variants in the shortest time. Without additional personnel effort, without long downtimes. You ensure your delivery dates even with changing part programs and at the same time increase the quality of your assemblies.

Why assembly technology needs to be rethought today

The trend towards variant production remains unbroken. At the same time, many companies lack qualified personnel for assembly work. Classical assembly lines are designed for large quantities, but they reach their limits with small series and frequent product changes. Modern assembly technology solves exactly this problem: It combines automated handling with intelligent control, reacts to product changes without conversion measures, and delivers reproducible results from the first part.

How the gKteso assembly technology works

Our assembly technology is based on the modular cell AS Integrated. It fully automates all central work steps and is designed for maximum flexibility with changing components. In the following section, we show you how the cell is built, how it works, and how it is integrated into your production.

Modular structure with the following components:

  • Component separation: Feeding of loose or tray-based parts via integrated handling system
  • Component identification: Camera systems recognize the component and automatically call up the correct program
  • Robot handling: Pick and place robot transfers the parts between the processing modules
  • Joining units: For screwing, gluing, and pressing processes, depending on product requirements
  • Testing technology: Sensors and cameras check each process stage for completeness and accuracy
  • Marking unit: Optional for marking or traceability (e.g., laser marking, labeling)
  • Material logistics: Connection to driverless transport systems for automatic supply and removal

The modules can be adapted, supplemented, or reconfigured depending on the application. This makes the assembly technology ideal for frequently changing product variants.

Process flow: Step-by-step automation

1. Supply components

The system receives raw parts through an automated feed system, such as from pallets, trays, or directly from the conveyor.

2. Recognize component

A camera system identifies the shape, position, and variant of the part. The control system then automatically selects the appropriate program.

3. Position and handle

A robot retrieves the recognized component and positions it precisely for the respective processing step.

4. Execute assembly operations

a. Screwing with torque-monitored screw system b. Gluing with precise dosing and defined curing c. Pressing with controlled force and depth

5. Quality assurance and marking

Sensors and cameras check every process stage. Faulty parts are sorted out, good parts are directly marked if desired, e.g., with a serial number or QR code.

6. Storage or further transport

The finished assemblies are again taken up by the robot and placed in trays or passed on to the next production step via driverless transport systems.

Advantages of gKteso assembly technology in detail

Quick conversion without downtime

Thanks to the automatic component recognition and the stored programs for each product, manual conversion is no longer necessary. A product change takes only a few minutes, and the cell remains continuously ready for use.

Reproducible quality from the first part

Every assembly step is monitored inline. Sensors and cameras check screwing parameters, joining forces, and component positions. Faulty parts are immediately sorted out. This results in a consistent high quality, independent of the operating personnel.

Compact design for space-saving integration

The assembly technology is designed to be easily integrated into existing production lines. Even with limited space, the cell can fully develop its performance. Additional hall space is not required.

Significant reduction in personnel requirements

The cell works independently. It takes over the positioning, assembling, testing, and marking of the components. Operating personnel are only needed for monitoring, supplying consumables, and possibly for manual interventions. This allows existing specialists to be used for higher-value activities.

What our assembly technology achieves in everyday life

  • Schedule reliability with product variety: Frequent format changes take time. Our modular technology minimizes setup times and creates reliable buffers in the cycle.
  • Less waste and rework: Complete process monitoring detects errors immediately. Rework is eliminated, and waste is directly avoided.
  • Relief for personnel with increasing quality: Error-prone manual assemblies are replaced by automated processes, and quality measurably increases.
  • Sustainable investment: The system grows with your requirements. Thanks to expandability, it remains operational even with future product changes.

Typical applications for our assembly technology

Our assembly technology is used in a wide range of industries:

  • Automotive suppliers automate the assembly of sensors, connectors, or actuators.
  • Medical technology manufacturers use our assembly technology for safety-relevant assemblies with documentation-required processes.
  • Electronics manufacturers integrate the cell into their end-of-line testing stations.
  • Plastic processors use the technology for pressing metal inserts, laser marking, or leak tests.
  • Aviation companies use it for assembling complex lightweight components with tight tolerances.
